How do I start to describe Jessica and Steven’s wedding?! There is so much to love about this day. Let me first tell you that Jessica’s cool and calm demeanor was refreshing. We never know what to expect when we first open the doors to the bridal room. Many times we walk into chaos, as you can imagine. Steven’s room was no different with laughs and drinks filling the room. The getting ready portion of a wedding day is so important, although, some clients opt out of having us there. It really is a great opportunity to take intimate and candid photographs. Some of my favorite pictures from this day was of Jessica’s dad seeing her for the first time… we totally got chocked up. Moments like these are little surprises that as photographers we are so happy to be able to capture. Being that Jessica is in the wedding industry, we had a hunch that the decor at the Bath Club would be out of this world. We were right! The ceremony, reception and cocktail hour decor gave off a romantic and vintage feel. I adored the unique little touches, like the unexpected felt bird hanging out on a twig, or the cute little phrase on a pillow at the cocktail hour. They even had a sign in area that consisted of guests signing a globe. Like I said, I can go on and on about the details. We felt like ninjas with cameras trying to capture every linen, table, chair, flower, everything. What I think was most impressive was the distressed wood wall that was designed by Jessica herself. The wood walls were found on each end of the ballroom, one behind the sweet heart table and the other behind the DJ booth. This specific piece not only enhanced the room and showed off this grand ballroom, but it also had shelving that allowed for more florals; you must scroll down and see for yourself. The dinner had an intimate feel, although it was a large wedding, the lighting added the perfect touch. The night ended with a huge surprise! Before I say the surprise let me first tell you that Jessica and Steven are die hard Miami Heat fans, so much that we even included the Miami Airlines Arena in the engagement session. Jessica, being the coolest wife ever, arranged for Burnie (the Miami Heat mascot) to surprise Steven. Picture this… Steven and Jessica dancing, when all of the sudden the DJ changes the music and raises the volume, and with an arena voice the DJ announces everyone to look at the stage. Burnie jumps off the stage, darts towards the couple, tosses Steven over his back, and simultaneously confetti guns launched thousands of paper confetti onto the dance floor. It was such a fantastic feeling being on the dance floor, the energy was contagious. It was epic!
