In our business, we develop close relationships with our clients. Photographing a wedding is not just about the wedding date but its about all the months leading up to the big day, and even beyond. At times we spend a year or more working with our brides and grooms. The engagement session is a big part of developing a bond with our clients. Getting the photographs that show emotions and a true representation of the couple and their relationships is what it’s all about for us. When a client says that they are opting out of an engagement session it such a disappointment for us. The engagement session to some is just “more” pictures, but for us it’s so much more than that. Like I mentioned, it helps us start a relationship with the client. You need to trust us, you need to feel comfortable with us, and vice-versa. We often say that an engagement session is a rehearsal for the wedding day. We are on a tight timeline on the wedding day, at times we are given 10 minutes with the couple to make magic happen. So as you can imagine, the engagement session helps make the most of that 10 minutes. Jeannette and Emilio’s engagement session was definitely a start of a friendship. We hit it off and I got to know the couple so much during this shoot. Their wedding was just this past weekend and it was such a good example of how important an engagement session is. The wedding day felt like it flew by and we were only given a few minutes to take photos, the church turned the lights off and we literally given 5 minutes with the couple. In those 5 mintues, we really did make magic. The couple knew what to do with very little direction and they were confident with me and themselves, it just worked out. I can’t wait to show off all their wedding pictures but for now here are their edgy and trendy Miami engagement pictures.
